Admission Requirements
The admission requirements for the Cosmetology Program are designed to help the school select those students best qualified to benefit from the educational opportunities offered at PBSHD. The school welcomes applicants who evidence thorough scholastic preparation, good character, intellectual interest and motivational purpose both in and outside of school. School records, recommendations and results of standardized ability and achievement tests are considered for students making application within four years of their high school graduating class date. Students making application whose high school graduating class date is more than four years are not required to submit secondary school records. Admission is without regard to age, sex, race, disability, marital status, religion, color, national or ethnic origin, creed or political affiliation.
A personal interview with the Admissions Coordinator is required. We encourage applicants to bring a parent, family member, or friend along at our first meeting where you will be touring our facilities. Applicants are then requested to submit their application, 3 references (examples: personal, employment, educational), as well as an entrance questionnaire. Admissions paperwork is expected to be submitted by the date specified by the Admissions Coordinator if an applicant wishes to be considered for the program. A meeting with the School Director is the final step in the application process.
This school considers for admission as a regular student (1) high school graduates, and (2) holders of the General Equivalency Diploma (GED), College grads, and change of career interests.
